Healthy Magic Shell

My sophomore year of college a Pressed Juicery opened near Columbia. For the rest of college and pre-pandemic law school this became my go to lunch place when I didn’t pack a lunch and had to be on campus. I would get their freezes which are kind of like healthy ice cream and while they are good, the real reason I would get them was for their chocolate sauce. One day while I raved about the chocolate sauce to the person working there she told me what was in it: coconut oil, honey, and cocoa powder. Ridiculously simple.

Somehow though I didn’t believe I could make it as good and I believed there must be a catch because it was SO good and those ingredients were SO simple. Then one day they were out of the chocolate sauce and I was craving it and I decided to attempt to make my own.

The rest is history or rather I have now had this chocolate sauce just about every day of my life since. I have it in a smoothie bowl every morning (so much healthier than chocolate chips). I put it on ice cream. Sometimes I just put it on fruit.

Due to the coconut oil it is liquid at room temperature but when it goes on something cold (even just refrigerated berries) it hardens almost immediately.

It has three healthy ingredients (naturally sweetened with no processed sweeteners) and it takes at most two minutes to make. If you like dark chocolate you will love this.
